Come to the webinar for LGBTQIA+ individuals

There is a webinar for LGBTQIA+ individuals on Wednesday, 5 February 2025 at 20:00. The webinar will be about, for example, your rights as an LGBTQIA+ individual in the Netherlands. VluchtelingenWerk Nederland (VWN) organises this webinar together with the Municipal Health Service Amsterdam (GGD).

These topics will be covered during the webinar

  • What are the rights in the Netherlands of LGBTIQUA+ individuals?

  • What LGBTQIA+ organisations are there?

  • How safe is it in the Netherlands for LGBTQIA+ individuals? And what can you do if you do not feel safe?

  • How to connect with other LGBTQIA+ individuals?

This webinar is also about sexual health

The following questions are addressed:

  • How can you protect yourself and your partner(s) from

    STIs
    and
    HIV
    ?

  • Where can you do an STI test in the Netherlands?

  • What exactly is

    PrEP
    ? And how do you get PrEP pills?

For the section on sexual health, Kenneth Yap (he/him) will be present for the webinar. He is an experienced physician at the

Amsterdam Municipal Health Service (GGD)
. Kenneth also works for the Trans Clinic in Amsterdam. And will also talk about health care for transgender and gender diverse individuals. You can also ask questions during the webinar to Kenneth Yap and to the LGBTQIA+ working group of
VluchtelingenWerk Nederland (VWN)
. Of course, this can also be done anonymously.

English will be spoken during the webinar and an interpreter will be present to translate directly into Ukrainian. The webinar is intended for people coming from Ukraine. You can participate in the webinar anonymously. If you participate, you will not appear on screen, even when asking questions. If you do not want people to know that you are participating, you can also use another name in Zoom

If you wish to attend the webinar, registration is required

You are required to register for the webinar. You will receive confirmation of your registration at the email address you provided. Included in that confirmation is the link for the webinar.

A few days after the webinar, everyone who signed up will receive a link to watch the webinar back. So even if you already know that you will not be able to watch the webinar live, it is important that you sign up anyway. Then you can always watch the webinar back on your own time.
