IND can now text you about your appointment in Ter Apel

If you are still waiting for an invitation for your interview with the Immigration and Naturalisation Service (IND) in Ter Apel, starting November 20, the IND will invite you via text message.

You will receive an invitation via post and text message from the IND

The

(IND)

now invites you via text message for your first interview about the asylum procedure. If you register with the

Department of Aliens Police, Identification and Human Trafficking (AVIM)

, they will keep your phone number and pass it on to the IND. As soon as it is known when your first interview with the IND is scheduled, the IND will send you a text message. In addition to a text message, you will still receive the regular paper invitation.

You only get a text message about interviews in Ter Apel

The IND only sends invitations for interviews that take place in Ter Apel. They do this because invitations through the post sometimes get lost or are not sent to the correct location because refugees often change locations a lot. The text message contains the details of the IND appointment, such as the date, location and time. Before the appointment, the IND will also send you a reminder by text message.

You cannot contact the IND via text message

The text message is a no-reply text message. That means you cannot respond to it to contact the IND. If you do, it will not be read by the IND.
