Improve your English
If you would like to learn English or improve your English, below you will find several (free) opportunities to learn English in the Netherlands.
Education First (EF) is providing free English courses to refugees from Ukraine. The classes can be accessed via the 'English live – Help Ukraine' app.
The app offers a free 12-month course led by certified English teachers. It allows students from Ukraine to study anywhere, anytime. This can be done even without access to the internet via offline mode.
"English live – Help Ukraine" is available for iOS and Android.
The following apps are useful for learning another language quickly and easily:
Duolingo: on Duolingo you have free short, ready-to-use lessons and can earn points and unlock new levels.
Busuu: You can learn a new language through Busuu's free learning app or paid private lessons. For refugees from Ukraine, the premium version of the app is free for the first 3 months.
Both apps are available for Android and iOS.
English lesson from 'Sunflowers Speak'
If you cannot speak English yet and want to learn it, you can come to 'Sunflowers Speak' as a refugee from Ukraine. This is useful because many people speak English in the Netherlands.
Volunteers, such as English teachers and native English speakers, conduct the classes. The volunteers of 'Sunflowers Speak' speak Ukrainian and Russian.
You can find dates of online and offline events and English classes on the Facebook page and Telegram group of 'Sunflowers Speak'.
